History
Mr. Carleton Good of River Forest, IL founded
School Health in 1950. He was a part owner of a family owned business called
Good-Lite Company
which manufactures a line of specialty eye charts for school vision screening.
Although he achieved success in his attempts to sell eye charts to schools,
he was continually asked to consider broadening his product line to include
a wider variety of medical supplies for the School Nurse. Mr. Good listened
and then decided to launch the School Health Supply Co. and began to carry
inventory to support the additional demand. As the company published a School
Nurse catalog, demand grew. Within several years, the company added a separate
division serving the needs of Athletic Trainers. The company's operation
was housed in Addison, IL from 1957-1993.

Formative
Years
The company achieved success by focusing on the needs of health care professionals
and by broadening the product line to include a wider variety of medical
supplies. In 1993, the company changed its name from School Health Supply
Co. to School Health Corporation to recognize it's transformation from a
simple supply house to a full service provider of vision and hearing screening
instruments, high quality health room furniture, and education about the
latest healthcare trends and technologies. That same year, the company moved
its operations into a brand new, state-of-the-art 38,000 square foot distribution
facility in Hanover Park, IL. Continued growth led to an expansion of this
building in 1999 to its current size of 50,000 square feet. This facility
houses approximately 75 employees and maintains deep inventory of over 7,000
medical products.

Health Presidents - All in the family |

Mr.
Carleton R. Good (1911 - 1992) grew up in family of medical professionals
and inventors. His uncle, Nelson Good, invented the first automobile in
Canada. His father, Dr. Robert H. Good, was a nationally renowned ophthalmologist.
His brother, Dr. Palmer Good, invented the hands free headlight for surgeons
and co-founded the Good-Lite Co. with his father where they helped create
the eye charts that are still used in vision screening today. Mr. Good started
School Health Supply Co. in his basement as a part-time activity. After
listening to the needs of school nurses, he recognized the potential and
fostered School Health's growth into the leading provider of medical supplies
in schools. Mr. Good was known for his exceptional business skills and his
kindness to others. He was like a father figure to many long-term School
Health employees whom he hired.

Under the direct leadership of Mr. Good's son-in-law, Robert
B. Cormack, Ed.D., School Health Corporation focused on providing
more than just supplies. With a keen understanding of the school market,
Dr. Cormack initiated several innovative campaigns to inform health care
practitioners of chronic conditions that impact children and new technology
that can be implemented in the school setting. He sought out and invested
in early intervention products, such as the MTI Photoscreener, that could
identify health risks at a preverbal age. In 2000, Dr. Cormack announced
his retirement to make way for the third generation of family management.
Prior to joining School Health Corporation, Dr. Cormack was the Dean of
Students at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, IL.

Dr. Cormack's daughter,
Susan C. Rogers, is leading School
Health Corporation into the 21st century. A 14-year veteran of School
Health Corporation, Susan shares her father's vision and commitment to
improving the health and well-being of children throughout the world.
In recent years, School Health Corporation has introduced life saving,
public access defibrillation programs into the school setting. Susan received
